Why did you choose Brown?
I chose Brown because I wanted a residency program where I would be challenged to be a skilled surgeon while also supported throughout the journey. My interview day left me in awe of how personable and close-knit the residents and faculty members were. I also loved that Brown offers an academic program that recognizes the importance of community health, allowing me to get exposure to the breath of general surgery and care for underserved populations.
What are your favorite things about Providence & RI?
Providence is such a vibrant and diverse city that is still quaint. I love having easy access to the ocean, the mountains, and the amazing vegan food scene. There is also nothing quite like autumn in New England!!
Plans for the future?
I currently have an interest in breast surgery and surgical oncology, but I am excited to explore all the different subspecialties throughout residency! I am also passionate about incorporating community health and advocacy into my surgical practice and hope to inspire future surgeons to do the same.
