The Division of Pediatric Surgery, based at Hasbro Children's Hospital, encompasses the clinical care, cutting edge research, and academic pursuits across a wide range of surgical conditions and treatments in infants and children.
Areas of particular interest to our faculty include pediatric trauma, congenital anomalies, short bowel syndrome, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), fetal surgery and minimally invasive technology. The Division and its members collaborate closely with other researchers on and off campus, including the CardioPulmonary Vascular Biology Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE), the Division of Trauma and Critical Care, the Division of Plastic Surgery, the Divisions of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Neonatology at Women & Infants Hospital, the Department of Medical Imaging at Rhode Island Hospital, the Visualization Research Lab at the Brown School of Engineering, the Injury Prevention Center the Bradley Hasbro Children’s Research Center, and most pediatric and surgical divisions within Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
