The Division of Vascular Surgery at Brown University is committed to delivering exceptional care for patients with arterial and venous disease while advancing the specialty through innovative research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and comprehensive surgical education.
As part of Brown University Health and The Warren Alpert Medical School, our faculty provide the full spectrum of open, endovascular, and hybrid vascular procedures for patients with both common and complex vascular conditions. Working closely with specialists in cardiology, interventional radiology, nephrology, podiatry, wound care, vascular medicine, and critical care, the Division delivers coordinated, evidence-based care that improves patient outcomes across southern New England.
Education is central to our mission. Medical students, general surgery residents, and vascular surgery fellows gain extensive experience managing complex vascular disease through participation in advanced open and minimally invasive procedures, multidisciplinary conferences, vascular laboratory interpretation, and longitudinal patient care. Faculty emphasize technical excellence, sound clinical judgment, and collaborative decision-making while preparing trainees for careers in academic and clinical vascular surgery.
Research remains a defining strength of the Division. Building upon the longstanding work of the Vascular Disease Research Center, faculty lead clinical trials, translational investigations, and outcomes research supported by national funding. Learners have opportunities to participate in meaningful scholarly activity, quality improvement initiatives, and presentations at regional and national scientific meetings.
