Why did you choose Brown?
I chose Brown because it felt like a place where I could thrive both personally and professionally. The culture is welcoming and collaborative, with a strong sense of camaraderie among residents and truly supportive leadership. Brown offers the full spectrum of academic and surgical opportunities, including high operative volume, a diverse patient population, and meaningful mentorship. Combined with its focus on clinical excellence and a genuine commitment to training well-rounded general surgeons, it was exactly the environment I was looking for.
What are your favorite things about Providence & RI?
I also love the diverse food scene, the proximity to the beach, and the added bonus of being one train ride away from my family.
Plans for the future?
I’m still exploring the many subspecialties within surgery, but I’ve found myself drawn to endocrine, vascular, and cardiothoracic surgery. I’m also passionate about academic surgery and have a strong interest in global health. Ultimately, I’m excited to gain broad exposure during residency and let those experiences shape my future path.
