Why did you choose Brown?
As a native Rhode Islander, I was excited to come home and be near friends and family, as well as to be back at the beach! I was so impressed by Brown on interview day—they checked off all my residency requirements: phenomenal training, supportive department, and opportunities to work in health policy.
What are your favorite things about Providence & RI?
As I return home, I’m reminded of the best things about the state: its small town feel (eventually you know someone who knows someone everywhere), the gorgeous coastlines, the incredible food, and the fact that if you’re driving farther than 20 minutes, that’s a day trip. There is an outsized amount of quirkiness squeezed into this tiny state!
Plans for the future?
Not sure yet! I’m interested in surgical oncology, colorectal, or breast surgery, but I’m really excited to explore all potential interests over the next few years. My non-clinical interests include health policy and advocacy.
