Sara Saymuah, MD
Biography
Hometown: Dearborn, MI
Undergraduate: University of Michigan-Dearborn
Medical School: Wayne State University School of Medicine
Why did you choose Brown? I chose Brown because of the diversity of cases, rigor of training, focus on resident education, and global surgery opportunities. Perhaps just as importantly, Brown was also my favorite interview—the camaraderie and joy were evident across leadership and residents, and I had so much fun meeting and talking with everyone.
What are your favorite things about Providence & RI? The beaches, the delicious food options (Pizza Marvin forever), the art scene, the diverse community, and the accessibility of the city by foot.
Plans for the future? While I am entering residency with an open mind, I am currently most interested in trauma and critical care. Regardless of which subspecialty I choose, though, I plan to work with the globally underserved, with a focus on my familial roots in the Middle East.
